The Race:

RunThrough Battersea Park 5+10km

Who we ran with:

RunThrough

How far did we go?

5km + 10km

Plodded upon:

Tarmac path

What did we wear:

Where’d we go?

Both the 5+10km start pretty much in the same place to the east of The Bandstand on the Central Avenue by the Australian Memorial Garden and both finish at The Bandstand, 2 laps for 5km and 4 laps for 10km.

Things kick off heading west straight past The Bandstand and over to where the Central Avenue meets up with Carriage Drive. The course turns left onto Carriage Drive and follows it all the way around the south of the park, past Go Ape and the Astro turfs, then all the way to the Rose Gardens where the path curves north. Once you can see the athletics track on your right the course turns left back onto Central Avenue and that is one lap.

We LOVED…

This race is not too far from home for us and it runs frequently so it can work well as a long run if we also run there and back. It helps to keep you motivated and stick to one pace.

We Struggled…

It’s a preference thing but we are not huge fans of multiple laps. Other people thrive off that sort of route so don’t let it deter you, it’s a fast flat course.

Why this Race…

It is super flat so fab for those wanting to chase a PB.

Famous Faces…

Some of our #RunStrong clients and also lots of We Are Runners.

Mid run Brainwave…

“I’ve definitely lost count of laps, thank goodness for the RunStrong team.”

Rocket Fuel…

No food or water during as the run was short. RunThrough flapjack post-run is a must-have though.

Number 1 Fan…

The Rock choir who sing throughout the whole race.
